We are currently seeking a Transportation Supervisor for our Edison, NJ location within the Supply Chain Solutions division. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position offering an annual salary range of $65,000 to $70,000, with pay distributed twice per month. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with flexible start times between 1:00 pm and 10:00 pm, designed to accommodate operational needs and work-life balance. The Transportation Supervisor will play a pivotal role in overseeing day-to-day logistics operations and supervising transportation and driver activities to ensure efficiency, compliance, and safety.

In this role, the successful candidate will work closely under the guidance of the Logistics Manager to coordinate and optimize logistics processes that meet company standards and customer requirements. Key responsibilities include supervising and developing staff, establishing work schedules and procedures, maintaining site key performance indicators (KPIs), and fostering positive labor relations while adhering to health, safety, and security policies. The Transportation Supervisor is expected to cultivate a collaborative team environment that values diversity and inclusion while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Effective leadership, coaching, and communication skills are critical, as the role involves frequent interaction with team members and customers alike.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year or more experience in transportation, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred
  • Zero to one year direct supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Flexibility to work Monday through Friday, 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm
  • Commitment to health, safety and regulatory compliance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year or more experience in transportation, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred
  • Zero to one year direct supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations
  • Plan and review logistics processes in collaboration with the Logistics Manager
  • Establish work schedules and coordinate team activities
  • Monitor and report on site key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate closely with customers in operational matters
  • Conduct regular team meetings to track performance and coach staff
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and improvement of internal processes
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend awards or merit increases
  • Address employee performance issues through corrective action
  • Maintain positive labor relations and understand labor agreements
  • Implement health, safety and security initiatives
  • Provide orientation and necessary resources to new employees and Lead Hands
  • Perform other duties as assigned
