This full-time Transport Driver Tier 2 position is based in Winter Haven, FL, and offers an on-site working environment. The role focuses on the safe and efficient delivery of Borden Dairy products to designated customer locations. As a vital part of Elsie's Herd, the transport driver will operate commercial vehicles to deliver, stock, and stage products while ensuring adherence to safety guidelines and Department of Transportation regulations. This role requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and a customer-first approach, as drivers will be responsible not only for transportation but also for maintaining product quality upon delivery, handling customer interactions professionally, and assisting with inventory documentation. Candidates must be prepared to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.

Key responsibilities include loading, transporting, and unloading dairy products securely; operating commercial vehicles along established routes; setting up promotional displays and delivering marketing materials; verifying shipment accuracy and product condition; resolving customer concerns professionally; collecting empty containers and returns; maintaining accurate delivery and inventory records; performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in line with DOT regulations; assisting with basic truck maintenance; and upholding a high standard of professionalism and teamwork at all times. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the company’s products reach customers in optimal condition and on schedule, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and operational success.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Air Brake endorsement
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with FMCSA Part 391.41
  • Minimum 1 year of Class A commercial driving experience required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Manual transmission experience required (no automatic restrictions)
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Safely load, transport, and unload products at designated customer locations
  • Operate a commercial vehicle along established routes to deliver, stock, and stage products
  • Set up promotional displays and deliver marketing materials as needed
  • Verify shipment accuracy and ensure product is in saleable condition upon delivery
  • Address and resolve customer concerns or discrepancies in a professional manner
  • Collect empty containers, returns, and unsold merchandise for processing
  • Complete daily inventory, delivery invoices, and proof of delivery documentation
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
  • Assist with basic truck maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and vehicle activity as required by DOT
  • Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a customer-first attitude at all times
  • Supports team and organizational goals through additional duties as required
