This role is vital in supporting our waitstaff and enhancing the overall customer experience by bridging the gap between the kitchen and the dining area.

The Food Runner position is centered on assisting servers by promptly and efficiently delivering orders to guests, ensuring that all dishes and beverages reach the customers in perfect condition. This role requires a high level of organization, physical stamina, and customer service skills. The food runner will be responsible for replenishing supplies such as alcohol, utensils, plates, and condiments at various service stations, maintaining cleanliness and order in the food preparation and service areas, and supporting the flow of service by anticipating the needs of the waitstaff and guests. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing stations and equipment regularly, helping clear tables by disposing of leftover food and beverages, and ensuring that all service areas are well-stocked and organized at all times.

Our ideal candidate will display strong operational skills in a customer service environment, have experience working in restaurants or similar roles, and possess a keen eye for detail and safety. Physical demands of the job include the ability to stand for extended periods, climb, balance, kneel, and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. A combination of excellent vision capabilities such as depth perception and color vision are needed to perform the duties effectively. This role also requires the use of proper lifting, pushing, and pulling techniques to maintain safety and efficiency.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • solid customer service operations skills preferred
  • superior guest interaction skills preferred
  • previous experience as a runner and/or in restaurants preferred

Job Duties

  • replenish the alcohol fridge
  • replenish setup stations with utensils, plates, cups, and salt
  • restock food stations with labeled items
  • clean and dry washed settings
  • order more tongs and scissors when running low
  • send beer and shot glasses to the dishwasher
  • wash water bottle caps
  • send water containers and teapots to the dishwasher
  • clean and disinfect the station
  • replenish placemats
  • clean display carts
  • clean the fridge with alcohol
  • clean the display and runner station
  • help carry food to tables
  • dispose of leftover food and drink
  • carry condiments such as salt, pepper, and sesame oil
  • perform additional essential duties as assigned
