The role of Director of Food & Beverage at Legends Global is a high-impact leadership position responsible for the oversight and management of all day-to-day food and beverage operations across multiple venues. This encompasses concessions, catering, and premium services, ensuring that hospitality standards not only meet but exceed guest expectations. The Director manages operations to optimize financial performance and sales growth, aligning with the company’s strategic goals while delivering a strong return on investment for stakeholders. They are responsible for spearheading innovation in guest experience, enhancing service delivery, and integrating technology to maintain a competitive edge in food and beverage offerings.

In this role, the Director of Food & Beverage acts as the primary liaison for client and ownership communications relating to food and beverage services. They work closely with clients, ownership groups, leagues, business partners, and key stakeholders to foster collaborative partnerships that promote operational excellence. The position requires a strategic mindset combined with operational expertise to lead a cohesive management team, driving accountability and professional development within the department.

Financial stewardship is a core element of the role, involving the development and execution of operating and capital budgets, labor forecasting, pricing strategies, and cost control measures. The Director also oversees procurement, vendor management, and compliance with local and federal regulations related to food safety, alcohol service, labor laws, and safety standards. Additional responsibilities include managing inventory controls, accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining all operational assets such as foodservice equipment and point of sale systems.

Working within a fast-paced event environment, the Director must ensure seamless coordination with stadium operations and event production teams to communicate critical information and fulfill contractual obligations. The position is located on-site at the Toledo Complex in Toledo, Ohio, and entails working varied schedules including late nights, weekends, and holidays due to event programming requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years foodservice management experience
  • Experience in sports and entertainment venue foodservice operations
  • Experience with alcohol sales management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Previous P&L responsibility preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including nights and weekends
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions
  • Supervisory experience with responsibility for hiring, training, performance management, and conflict resolution

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience in the contract foodservice industry preferably in sports and entertainment venues
  • Experience in high volume foodservice operations including concessions or premium services
  • Experience overseeing the sale of alcohol
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Previous P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and POS systems
  • Strong leadership, initiative, and management skills
  • Flexibility to work extended hours including late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Supervisory experience including hiring, training, appraising, and directing employees
  • Ability to perform some physical exertion

Job Duties

  • Uphold and enforce Legends Global standards of quality, service, and performance
  • Continuously enhance and innovate guest experience for food and beverage offerings, service delivery, technology, and communications while balancing creativity with operational feasibility
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all client and ownership communications related to food and beverage services ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with clients, ownership, business partners, leagues, and key stakeholders
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a cohesive management team
  • Ensure all department leaders are delivering on their role expectations and goals
  • Develop and execute annual operating and capital budgets that support fiscally sound operations, including labor forecasting, product mix, pricing strategy, and cost controls
  • Oversee operational budget and monthly P&L performance ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Review and submit all required financial reports, monthly projections, and inventory reconciliations
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping, scheduling, and labor management for team members
  • Maintain accountability for inventory controls, accounts payable, and accounts receivable across all departments
  • Lead weekly food and beverage operations meetings with executive leadership and key stakeholders to review performance, initiatives, and upcoming events
  • Oversee procurement and vendor management working closely with distributors and suppliers to secure products, services, and equipment necessary to execute events
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors, concessionaires, and nonprofit partners to ensure contractual compliance and service excellence
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including alcohol service, food safety, OSHA, payroll, employment, EEO, and company policies
  • Establish and maintain safety, sanitation, and quality assurance programs in partnership with local health departments and alcohol beverage control authorities
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and lifecycle management of all operational assets such as foodservice equipment, POS systems, and uniforms
  • Maintain and refresh core food and beverage programs annually to reflect fan preferences, seasonal trends, and club identity
  • Participate in event production and stadium operations meetings ensuring timely communication of critical information to the management team
  • Ensure all food service equipment is maintained in proper working condition to support safe and efficient operations
  • Execute all contractual obligations in accordance with client and company agreements
  • Perform additional related duties and responsibilities as required to support stadium operations and organizational objectives
