The role being offered is based at the Toledo Complex, which includes the Huntington Center and the Glass City Center. This position reports directly to the Director of Food & Beverage and is responsible for maintaining all cost and quality standards to guarantee exceptional service throughout catered events, private functions, and suite operations across both venues. This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.

The Food and Beverage Manager will oversee all aspects of catering and banquet operations within the Toledo Complex, ensuring client standards are consistently met or exceeded. This includes managing event execution details, staffing, inventory, sanitation, and guest services. The manager plays a critical role in hiring, training, and supervising catering staff to maintain a high level of service and operational efficiency. This role requires close coordination with sales, culinary teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth event delivery. Maintaining cost controls, labor efficiency, and safety standards are key components of this responsibility.

Applicants should possess strong knowledge of catering and banquet services, exhibit excellent communication and leadership skills, and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a high-paced, customer-focused environment. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and catering software is preferred, along with the ability to pass food safety and alcoholic beverage management certifications. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent food service experience preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a catering environment preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with Excel, Word, and Outlook Microsoft 365 preferred
  • Experience with catering software used in F&B
  • Must be able to pass ServSafe Managers Training and Alcoholic Beverage Service Training
  • Ability to handle multiple events in a fast-paced environment in a professional manner
  • Ability to handle cash transactions
  • Must maintain professional demeanor with patrons and employees

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensure all banquet event order information to ensure successful execution of catered events
  • Partner with Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef to ensure all catering events are executed consistently and in line with company and client standards
  • Hire all employees and ensure all employees are interviewed, hired, trained according to assigned roles
  • Oversee order compilation and placing of linen, beverage and disposable ware orders
  • Ensure function details with sales are shared with staff, event coordinators, and culinary staff
  • Coordinate food set-up and/or delivery time with culinary staff
  • Prepare pre-event meetings with catering staff
  • Direct and supervise all catering staff to ensure high-quality service
  • Maintain an active presence during events with close attention to organizational details, customer service, sanitation, and labor allocation
  • Enforce cleanliness and sanitation practices of catering services
  • Manage labor force to ensure efficiency and timeliness of duties
  • Oversee opening/closing duties
  • Assist with retail services and bars when the schedule allows
  • Supervise all catering staff in a manner consistent with Legends Global Human Resource Policies and Procedures
  • Promote a safe work environment and report any potential hazards
  • Assist with ongoing training of all Catering Services staff as necessary
  • Contribute to maintaining weekly labor cost goals while ensuring high-quality service, sanitation, and product usage practices are followed
  • Assist in monthly food and beverage inventories and periodic small wares inventories
  • Execute all coaching, counseling, and follow up training for all employees
  • Support Catering Managers with staffing budgets and maintain financial accountabilities as it relates to service
