Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- 2-3 years experience in upscale banquet, hotel, or convention center setting with supervisory role
- State-issued health certificate and immunizations required
- ServSafe certification
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Effective communication and active listening skills
- Proficient in kitchen and food preparation methods
- Ability to train and supervise staff
- Knowledge of computer software MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Attention to detail and multitasking ability
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Physical stamina and endurance for kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- 2-3 years in a similar position in an upscale banquet, hotel, or convention center setting with prior supervisory experience
- State-issued health certificate and required immunizations
- Technical proficiency and verifiable knowledge of food preparation methods
- Effective interpersonal skills with diverse personalities
- Active listening and communication skills
- Ability to train, evaluate, motivate, coach, and counsel staff
- Ability to assist in skill development for effective job performance
- Ability to distribute responsibilities to meet objectives
- Creative problem-solving and solid decision-making skills
- Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and prioritize in a changing environment
- Self-directed while working in a team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and long hours
- Physical capability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects

- General knowledge of health and safety for patrons and staff

- Familiarity with math including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, statistics
- Knowledge of US Foods Menu Profit Pro is a plus
Job Duties
- Supervises all line setup, prep, and breakdown activities
- Supervises all buffet, beverage, break, and carving table set-up and breakdown
- Assists Executive Chef with kitchen record-keeping and food inventories
- Organizes employee work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage
- Prepares and cooks food according to recipes and company standards
- Maintains a clean kitchen environment with no food debris
- Provides ongoing assistance, training, and mentoring to kitchen staff
- Promotes a positive and cooperative workplace by working alongside staff
- Ensures quality, consistency, and food safety standards are maintained
- Monitors events, materials, and surroundings
- Guides, directs, and motivates kitchen employees
- Communicates effectively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates
- Makes decisions and solves problems using strong organizational skills
- Documents and records personnel discipline information
- Performs other duties as assigned
