Job Description

The Part-Time Premium Bar Back position at Moody Center offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this cutting-edge venue, contributing to one of the nation’s most electric entertainment experiences. This role involves critical support functions that ensure premium bar services run smoothly during events. The employee will be responsible for stocking and maintaining bar supplies, cleaning and preparing equipment, and ensuring the bar area is maintained according to health and safety standards. This position is hourly and offers a wage between $12.00 and $17.00 per hour, plus tip eligibility. Additionally, part-time employees have access to benefits like a 401(k) savings plan with company matching, providing valuable retirement planning options.

This role requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where teamwork, communication, and attention to detail are paramount. Candidates will engage in preparing bars for busy event nights, stocking N/A and alcoholic beverages, managing kegs, and assisting bartenders with their supply needs. The Premium Bar Back also plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe bar environment by performing sanitation tasks such as mopping floors, emptying trash, and organizing supplies. Moreover, the role demands vigilance with guest interactions, including recognizing and reporting signs of intoxication to ensure responsible service and safety during events.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and guests in a clear, respectful manner
  • must possess or be willing to obtain valid food handling certificate
  • must possess or be willing to obtain TABC certificate prior to working
  • ability to calculate basic math functions related to product inventory

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and guests in a clear, respectful manner
  • must possess or be willing to obtain valid food handling certificate
  • must possess or be willing to obtain TABC certificate prior to working
  • ability to calculate basic math functions related to product inventory
  • experience working in a fast-paced, high volume bar capacity preferred

Job Duties

  • Stocking products for the bar including N/A beverages, alcoholic beverages, icing wells
  • sweeping and mopping the bar
  • moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs
  • running supplies for bartenders such as backup fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers
  • ensuring equipment is operable and clean before events
  • maintaining cleanliness of bar and surrounding areas using sanitation procedures
  • recognizing visibly intoxicated guests and informing bartenders
  • maintaining sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • demonstrating excellent attendance
