The role of Pastry Cook at Palm Springs Convention Center is a part-time, regular position that offers an hourly pay rate between $21.00 and $23.00. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in pastry cooking or related culinary field preferred
  • valid food handler safety card required or ability to obtain
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and sanitation
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to follow recipes and maintain portion control

Job Qualifications

  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including deep fryer convection oven mixer immersion blender scale and chef knife
  • ability to read follow and execute recipes and convert recipes to make proper amounts
  • ability to communicate with coworkers management staff and guests clearly and respectfully
  • ability to work well in a team oriented fast paced event driven environment
  • able to lift and move heavy objects
  • ability to work flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
  • required to possess or obtain valid food handler safety card
  • possess thorough knowledge of sanitation food preparation alcohol service policies and safety standards
  • ability to adhere to highest standards of integrity professionalism ethics and confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Provide high-quality fresh pastry products in a timely manner
  • prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • participate as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation service and delivery
