The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of the kitchen’s functioning, including staff supervision, training, scheduling, food preparation, and cost control. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards while maintaining high quality and consistency to meet Oak View Group's exacting standards. The position requires an individual who can foster a positive work atmosphere, mentor the culinary team, maintain a cooperative workplace, and swiftly address operational challenges.
This leadership role includes strategic menu development, overseeing catering events, managing kitchen equipment maintenance, and controlling inventory and waste. The Executive Chef will work closely with the Food and Beverage Director to achieve profitability goals and ensure guest satisfaction. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume hospitality environment
- Maintain current food handler's card and necessary permits
- Ability to work a variable event-driven schedule including nights and weekends
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Proficient with computer software used for scheduling and inventory
- Capacity for effective staff training and team building
- Ability to manage food and labor costs effectively
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor

Job Qualifications
- 5-7 years kitchen management experience in high-volume hotel, catering, or convention center
- Proven track record of meeting projected food costs
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Proficient in computer software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Current food handler's card and alcohol service permit if applicable
- Knowledge of hospitality employee scheduling
- Certification or ability to obtain certification in nationally recognized sanitation program
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of food preparation methods
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities
- Skilled in staff training, evaluation, motivation, and counseling
- Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively

Job Duties
- Manage the culinary team including hiring, firing, and disciplining staff
- Train and mentor full-time and part-time culinary employees
- Ensure event staff understand workplace expectations and provide ongoing support

- Implement food cost control measures including portion control and inventory management
- Control labor costs through efficient kitchen staff scheduling and cross-training
- Monitor compliance with food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety policies
- Develop menus ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to concept
- Oversee food production ensuring recipe specifications and portion controls are met
- Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and operational readiness
- Coordinate catered service deliveries and setups
