Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a globally recognized leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, OVG operates an extensive platform that includes venue development and comprehensive capabilities in venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The group manages a prestigious portfolio of seven world-class venues and collaborates with some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. This global footprint and reputation make OVG a pioneer in the live entertainment industry, consistently delivering unparalleled experiences to millions of patrons worldwide.
One of OVG's flagship venues is PeoplesBank Arena, located in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. With a seating capacity exceeding 15,000, PeoplesBank Arena is the premier destination for sports and entertainment in the region. The arena hosts an impressive lineup of events ranging from the celebrated UConn men’s and women’s basketball games—led by illustrious Hall of Fame coaches Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley—to the high-energy Hartford Wolf Pack hockey games, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers. Beyond sports, the venue attracts an eclectic mix of concerts, family shows, ice-skating extravaganzas, consumer events, and trade shows. Over time, PeoplesBank Arena has played host to legendary performers such as Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, and Drake, highlighting its status as a central hub for entertainment in Connecticut and beyond.
The Events Manager role at PeoplesBank Arena is a critical position within OVG’s event management team. As an Events Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing every aspect of assigned events from the initial planning stages through to event completion. This full-time role, based at the arena’s location at One Civic Center Plaza in Hartford, offers an annual salary range of $60,000 to $70,000. The position includes comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plans with company matching, and paid time off including vacation, sick days, and eleven holidays.
Your responsibilities will include managing high-profile arena events like UConn basketball games, Hartford Wolf Pack hockey matches, concerts, and family shows. You will collaborate closely with facility clients to understand and anticipate event needs, coordinating with internal teams such as operations, audio/visual, telecommunications, custodial, security, marketing, and maintenance to ensure seamless event execution. You will prepare detailed event documentation, including layouts and setup instructions, and serve as the key liaison between facility users and staff. Additionally, you will enforce facility policies, ensure compliance with safety codes, manage event staff schedules including union labor, and work collaboratively with municipal officials for event security and logistics.
This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented professional capable of problem-solving in dynamic live event settings. Your leadership will directly influence the quality and success of events, with responsibilities extending to financial preparations such as pre-show estimates and post-show settlements. You will be expected to uphold and champion OVG’s commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and excellence by fostering effective communication and teamwork throughout the event lifecycle. A flexible schedule is essential, as the role requires working during nights, weekends, holidays, and varied event hours. This is a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to one of the most vibrant live entertainment hubs in the country while advancing your career within a globally respected company dedicated to shaping the future of live entertainment.
