Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) stands at the forefront of the premium live entertainment infrastructure and services industry. Founded in 2015, OVG has rapidly become a global leader renowned for its comprehensive platform that spans venue development along with venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The company proudly operates a collection of seven world-class owned venues, and its impressive client roster includes some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. OVG's commitment to excellence and innovation reflects in every facility and event it manages, making it a key player in the live entertainment sector worldwide.
One of the crown jewels within OVG’s venue portfolio is the Moody Center located in Austin, Texas. This arena is a remarkable example of OVG’s vision realized—a premier 15,000-plus seat venue designed specifically for concerts and sports, making it a core destination within Austin, known globally as the "Live Music Capital of the World." Moody Center hosts a wide variety of events, including top-tier musical acts, University of Texas women’s and men’s basketball games, family shows, and other community and sporting events. This venue is distinguished by its unique partnership among Oak View Group, Live Nation/C3 Presents, The University of Texas at Austin, and Minister of Culture Matthew McConaughey. Its innovative design and operational excellence have earned it significant accolades such as Arena of the Year from both Pollstar and the Academy of Country Music.
The role of Concessions Bar Back at Moody Center invites part-time team members to be an essential part of this buzzing entertainment ecosystem. This position primarily focuses on supporting bartenders by ensuring that beverage stations are fully stocked and well-maintained during events. The Bar Back is responsible for stocking alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of the bar equipment, tapping kegs, and replenishing bartenders’ supplies such as napkins, cups, and utensils. Additionally, the Bar Back plays a crucial role in monitoring patrons to recognize any signs of intoxication and promptly notifying bartenders to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
This role demands reliability and flexibility, as the Bar Back must demonstrate excellent attendance and be available to work various events as scheduled based on business needs. It offers an hourly wage ranging between $12.00 and $17.00, with eligibility for tips, providing a competitive compensation package for part-time employment. Moreover, the position includes access to benefits such as a 401(k) savings plan with matching for part-time employees, underscoring the company's commitment to employee welfare.
Working at Moody Center under the Oak View Group umbrella means being part of a diverse and inclusive team dedicated to creating the most electric entertainment experiences in the nation. The company values diversity as a catalyst for innovation and excellence, striving to foster a culture where every employee can thrive and contribute uniquely to the overarching mission. Joining this team offers a dynamic and exciting opportunity to be directly engaged in serving a vibrant community of fans, athletes, and patrons while enhancing one’s skills in a fast-paced, world-class environment.
