Job Description

The Concessions Bar Back position at Moody Center is a part-time role that plays a crucial support function within the concessions and bar services team. The person in this role works alongside bartenders, ensuring that the bar is fully stocked with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, necessary supplies, and equipment throughout events. Maintaining a clean and safe bar environment while following all alcohol dispensing policies is essential. The role demands excellent attendance and a readiness to work during scheduled events based on business needs.

This position offers hourly pay ranging from $12.00 to $17.00 and includes eligibility for tips, making it a rewarding opportunity for individuals looking to engage in a dynamic, fast-paced, and team-oriented setting within the live entertainment industry. Day-to-day responsibilities include stocking drinks, managing kegs and ice wells, cleaning and sanitizing bar areas, supporting bartenders with supplies like fruit and utensils, and ensuring safety by monitoring guests for signs of intoxication. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and event days
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting kegs and moving supplies
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Possess valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state and federal laws
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with employees, management, and guests
  • Possession of a valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by regulations
  • Ability to perform basic math functions related to product inventory including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
  • Preferred experience in working in a high-volume bar capacity

Job Duties

  • Stock products for the bar including non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, ice wells, sweeping and mopping the bar, moving kegs in and out of keg coolers and tapping kegs
  • Run supplies for bartenders including backup fruit, napkins, cups, utensils, and stirrers
  • Assure that bar equipment is operable and clean prior to events
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas using sanitation procedures including mopping floors, cleaning and stacking floor mats, emptying and relining trash cans, and clearing closet areas
  • Recognize guests who are visibly intoxicated and alert bartenders accordingly
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance and availability to work scheduled events
