Job Description
Oak View Group (OVG) is a global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services. Established in 2015, Oak View Group has grown rapidly to become a pioneering force in the sports and live entertainment industry. The company operates a comprehensive platform that includes venue development and a wide range of end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. OVG proudly manages seven world-class owned venues and maintains a diverse client roster that includes some of the most iconic arenas, stadiums, convention centers, music festivals, performing arts centers, and cultural institutions across four continents. Their portfolio highlights the company’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and fostering memorable experiences for guests and clients alike.
This particular job opening is for the position of Action Chef for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a prestigious golf tournament hosted in Orlando, Florida. The role is seasonal, running from February 10, 2026, to June 10, 2026, with an hourly pay rate of $19.50. The Action Chef position is a seasonal part-time role that merges culinary expertise with high-level customer interaction, making it ideal for professionals who thrive in dynamic, high-pressure environments and enjoy engaging directly with guests.
As an Action Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food live in front of guests during the event. This requires strong culinary skills to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced setting, while maintaining impeccable food quality and presentation standards. Your station might include an omelet station, a carving station, pasta station, grill station, or other action cooking setups. This live aspect of cooking not only demands a high degree of technical skill but also requires professionalism, speed, and a friendly demeanor in interacting with guests to enhance their overall event experience.
In addition to cooking, the Action Chef must maintain a clean, organized, and professional cooking station while following all recipes, event menus, and production guidelines. Ensuring food safety and proper cooking temperatures is a critical component of the role, alongside following all food safety and sanitation guidelines including proper glove use and handwashing protocols. The ability to restock station supplies, assist with food prep before service, and participate in cleanup after service rounds out the responsibilities, making this role vital to the smooth operation of the culinary team during the tournament.
This job is not just about cooking; it also requires excellent customer service and communication skills, as you will be a visible representative of Oak View Group's hospitality efforts during the tournament. You must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and capable of standing for long periods, lifting up to 40-50 pounds as necessary. Furthermore, reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work weekends and early mornings aligned with the tournament schedule are essential for success in this role. Food Handler Certification is preferred or you should be willing to obtain it.
Oak View Group is strongly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, believing that a diverse team drives innovation, strengthens people, and elevates service and excellence. As an equal opportunity employer, OVG encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply and is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for everyone. If you are passionate about live events, high-quality food service, and want to be a part of a cutting-edge company during an exciting world-class tournament, this seasonal Action Chef role offers a unique and rewarding opportunity.
