THE TENNESSEAN Personal Luxury Hotel & Residences is a distinguished hotel located alongside downtown Knoxville's largest public greenspace at World’s Fair Park. This upscale establishment offers a stylish and contemporary atmosphere with dramatic mountain and park views that captivate guests and residents alike. With 82 elegantly appointed rooms designed in contemporary style, THE TENNESSEAN provides guests with a comfortable and luxurious experience. The hotel lobby is sophisticated, offering a relaxing environment where guests can enjoy fine spirits in the Drawing Room or rejuvenate in the state-of-the-art fitness center. The suites at THE TENNESSEAN are thoughtfully designed to appeal to all five senses, from the invigorating aroma of freshly made coffee courtesy of in-room Illy coffee makers to high-quality Bluetooth-enabled radios compatible with smartphones. Guests savor picturesque views of the Smoky Mountains or World’s Fair Park from their suites, setting this hotel apart from other accommodations in Knoxville. Each suite features plush private powder rooms stocked with premium local soaps and capital washroom amenities, along with pillow-top mattresses adorned with luxury linens. For the ultimate in personal luxury, guests can indulge in breakfast in bed delivered by the attentive In Room Dining team. THE TENNESSEAN embodies the essence of modern luxury hospitality, blending impeccable service with an inviting ambiance.
As the Director of Front Office at THE TENNESSEAN, you will take center stage in leading and energizing the Front Office team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and ensure the smooth operation of the hotel. This full-time leadership role demands a dynamic individual who blends a passion for hospitality with sharp business acumen. You will oversee all facets of the Front Office operations, including guest check-in/check-out, room inventory management, and adherence to brand standards, all while ensuring profitability through effective budgeting and policy enforcement. Your role is vital in driving guest loyalty by maintaining high service standards and addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Beyond operations, you will act as a team champion by coaching, motivating, and developing the Front Office staff through supervision, counseling, performance evaluations, and recognition programs. Recruiting, interviewing, and training new employees will also be an integral part of your responsibilities. Your leadership will foster a positive and productive work environment that promotes growth and excellence. Revenue management will be a critical aspect of your role as you innovate marketing and up-selling strategies to maximize room occupancy and revenue generation. Staying informed about hotel promotions and effectively communicating them to the team will help maintain a high level of guest engagement and satisfaction.
The Director of Front Office will also play a key role as crisis commander, maintaining emergency preparedness through certifications, leading daily reporting and decision-making processes, participating in Manager on Duty shifts, and spearheading special projects as needed. This role suits an individual with excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills who can manage complex issues and deadlines with grace and confidence. Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems and analytical skills with financial and data information are essential to success. Experience with OnQ property management systems, brand-specific certifications, and previous director-level experience are highly preferred.
Joining THE TENNESSEAN means becoming part of a distinguished team that values luxury, service, and community connection. After an initial waiting period, full-time employees are eligible for a competitive benefits package. This includes daily pay options, medical, dental, and vision coverage, short-term and long-term disability income, term life and AD&D insurance, paid time off, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401k retirement plan. If you are ready to step into a leadership role that combines hospitality excellence with dynamic team management and operational oversight, THE TENNESSEAN invites you to apply and contribute to a premier luxury hotel experience in Knoxville.
