The Front Desk Agent role is critical to ensuring guests receive prompt, courteous service from the moment they arrive until the time they depart. The selected candidate will be the face of the hotel, responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing check-ins and check-outs with accuracy, and handling monetary transactions confidently. They will be expected to maintain thorough knowledge of the property’s systems, rates, discounts, and booking procedures to deliver seamless service throughout the guest journey. Precision in navigating the front office computer or manual systems is essential, along with a strong ability to handle cash and credit card transactions securely and efficiently. The agent must be comfortable managing reservations, responding to special guest requests, and adhering to cancellation and relocation policies. The role also demands excellent communication skills, a high work ethic, and the flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include the ability to work predominantly seated at a desk using computer systems but also to stand, walk, or lift up to 25 pounds as needed, supporting the dynamic pace of hotel operations.   • Previous experience in hotel front desk or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to use front office computer systems or manual reservation systems
  • Basic math skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • Promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including how to take same day reservations
  • Follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
