Job Description
Woodward Tahoe, located in Soda Springs, California, within the breathtaking Sierra Nevada mountain range, stands as a premier year-round action sports facility. Renowned for its commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive culture centered around fun, progression, and community, Woodward Tahoe offers an environment where employees not only work but thrive and play among like-minded individuals and professional athletes. This establishment is part of the larger POWDR network, known for owning and operating world-class resorts, and it offers its team members not just a job but an immersive lifestyle experience.
The facility is distinguished by its commitment to blending work with play, allowing employees to access state-of-the-art sports environments frequently utilized by Olympic and professional athletes. Woodward Tahoe emphasizes creating a welcoming and diverse community atmosphere that values individual stories, backgrounds, and identities while encouraging innovation and creativity. The company culture promotes authenticity and inclusiveness, ensuring that everyone—regardless of their experience level—is encouraged to apply and contribute to the team.
This particular role is for a Barista position at the Grind Cafe, located inside The Bunker at Woodward Tahoe’s Soda Springs site. The role is integral to maintaining the guest experience by preparing and serving high-quality espresso drinks, sandwiches, salads, and other food items, alongside beer and wine service. Baristas at Woodward Tahoe are expected to operate the point of sale system efficiently, maintain cleanliness standards in the cafe, manage inventory, assist with ordering supplies, and provide knowledgeable customer service that reflects the vibrant and energetic ethos of the establishment.
Employees in this role receive a proposed hourly rate of $18.00, with actual pay adjusted based on experience, and have access to on-site employee housing and meals. The Barista position is more than a typical café job; it offers access to the company’s exceptional facilities and encourages a balanced work-life lifestyle with ample free time to enjoy the mountain surroundings and recreational opportunities. Additional benefits include retail discounts on apparel and equipment, complimentary access to most POWDR-owned resorts, and the chance to work in a motivating environment where progression and fun are key components. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality, community engagement, and action sports culture. Employees also serve as ambassadors, answering questions about Woodward Tahoe’s winter and summer programs, further enriching the visitor experience and promoting facility offerings.
Woodward Tahoe prides itself on being a place where employees can bring their whole selves to work, fostering a culture that celebrates uniqueness, creativity, and different points of view. The company believes in pushing boundaries, supporting authentic self-expression, and creating a space where all voices are valued. Even candidates who do not meet every single qualification are encouraged to apply, reflecting the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. For those needing assistance with the application process, Woodward Tahoe provides support to ensure accessibility and fairness in hiring.
