Job Description

Grand Pacific Hotel Services, Inc. is a distinguished employer known for managing top hospitality venues, including Solea Carlsbad Resort & Spa. This establishment is highly regarded for providing exceptional guest experiences in a luxurious and welcoming environment. The Solea Carlsbad Resort & Spa offers guests a blend of comfort, leisure, and exceptional service, set against the scenic backdrop of Carlsbad's beautiful surroundings. As part of a hospitality team, employees work in an environment that emphasizes quality service, professionalism, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

The Cove Bar at Solea Carlsbad Resort & Spa is an outdoor pool bar designed to create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for guests. The seasonal position available runs from April 2026 through September 2026 and focuses on delivering a speedy, friendly, and professional beverage service to both bar patrons and pool guests. This role is essential to maintaining the vibrant and welcoming environment that encourages guests to visit frequently.

The position is centered on preparing and serving beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and other drinks in accordance with established recipes and standards. The Cove bartender circulates the poolside and dining areas, ensuring that each guest feels attended to and satisfied with their experience. A key part of the job is to maintain a clean and organized bar area, manage inventory by stocking necessary items, and assist with replenishment forms. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting are critical skills for success.

Beyond beverage service, bartenders are responsible for bussing and cleaning pool and dining areas, conducting opening and closing procedures, handling phone inquiries related to cabana rentals, and occasionally assisting with supply runs between the Solea property and kitchen. The role demands strong communication skills, cash handling accuracy, and proficiency with point-of-sale systems like Micros or comparable software.

Physical demands of the job include working outdoors in varying temperatures, sometimes reaching extreme heat or cold conditions. Bartenders must remain on their feet for long stretches and perform tasks involving bending, lifting up to 35 pounds, and mobility across various resort areas, including inclines and declines. The position also requires maintaining a neat and well-groomed appearance according to Marbrisa Pool Dress Code standards, reinforcing the professional image of the resort.

Success in this role requires at least two years of bartending experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and certifications such as a current Food Handler's Card and TIPS certification. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, alongside a solid understanding of beverage and cocktail crafting techniques, will contribute to effectiveness in the role.

Employees will be joining a team committed to upholding the highest standards of guest service and operational excellence while working in a cooperative and positive environment. The seasonal nature of the job reflects the dynamic hospitality industry, and flexibility in scheduling is expected to meet the business needs of the resort. Regular attendance, adherence to resort policies, and participation in scheduled training sessions and meetings are mandatory for all team members.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a respected hospitality operator within a premier resort setting, contributing directly to memorable guest experiences at Solea Carlsbad Resort & Spa during the vibrant pool season.
