Job Description

Grand Pacific Hotel Services, Inc. is the proud owner and employer of all associates at Solea Carlsbad Resort & Spa, a luxurious destination known for its exceptional accommodations and world-class amenities. The resort offers guests a memorable experience with its stunning location, top-tier service, and vibrant atmosphere. The Cove Pool operation within Solea Carlsbad Resort & Spa is a key feature that highlights the resort's commitment to providing a relaxing outdoor pool experience designed to encourage guests to visit frequently. This seasonal position runs from April 2026 through September 2026, focusing on delivering excellent beverage service in a friendly and professional manner.

The role at the Cove Bar is centered on preparing and servicing beverages to both servers and guests efficiently and cheerfully. Employees are expected to mix and create cocktails according to the resort's standards and recipes while providing attentive service poolside. This position requires individuals who can handle a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and well attended to throughout their visit. Employees will contribute to maintaining a clean and organized bar and pool area, stock inventory efficiently, and complete necessary documentation to replenish supplies. The role also involves working collaboratively with other departments and maintaining clear communication to support the overall functioning of the resort's food and beverage operations.

The Cove Operation team member is responsible for a broad array of duties, including taking orders, delivering beverages and food items to guests, and ensuring poolside areas are clean and inviting. The position requires stamina as much of the shift involves being on one's feet, walking, and handling physical tasks such as lifting up to 35 pounds and performing repetitive motions outdoors in a temperature-controlled environment that can range from freezing kitchens to warm poolside settings. In addition to technical skills like handling cash transactions and POS systems, this role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Employees must be adept at problem-solving, multitasking, and maintaining composure while ensuring all guests have a memorable experience.

Applicants must meet several requirements, including being of legal age to serve alcohol, having food handling certification, and TIPS certification to ensure responsible beverage service. Previous bartending experience is necessary, with a minimum of two years preferred, along with solid computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Micros or comparable POS systems. The role demands a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in compliance with the resort's dress code standards. Regular attendance and punctuality are crucial, as well as the ability to adapt to varied and changing schedules that the hospitality industry demands. This seasonal employment offers a unique opportunity to engage with an upscale clientele and grow professionally within a prestigious resort setting, while contributing to the high standards that define the Solea Carlsbad Resort & Spa experience.
