Job Description

US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor in the United States, renowned for its extensive product portfolio that includes both exclusive and national brands. The company goes beyond just food distribution by offering a range of services tailored to enhance the profitability and operational efficiency of its clients. US Foods is committed to delivering exceptional customer service, which sets it apart within the competitive foodservice industry. This commitment underscores the company’s philosophy of winning together, fostering a collaborative and success-driven environment for both employees and customers alike.

The role of Territory Manager at US Foods embodies the core values of passion, performance, and partnership. This position is pivotal in driving business growth through the development and nurturing of customer relationships. As a Territory Manager, you will be responsible for both managing existing accounts and hunting for new business opportunities, making this a dynamic role that requires strategic sales skills, customer-centric approaches, and a thorough understanding of market conditions. US Foods supports this position with a comprehensive training program that includes extensive coaching, sales tools, and mentorship to ensure every Territory Manager can thrive and succeed long-term.

Your daily activities will involve acting as the customer champion by owning and nurturing customer relationships within a team-based selling model. This means educating customers on ordering platforms, providing menu consultations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies to help them succeed. Your performance will be measured by your ability to increase sales, grow case volume, and secure new business accounts through tailored sales presentations and effective time and territory management.

Teamwork is central to this position. You will collaborate with Specialists, marketing, supply chain, and customer service teams to optimize account penetration and ensure a seamless product delivery experience. Furthermore, you will lead with insight by using market intelligence databases, business directories, and networking opportunities such as trade shows and conferences to identify and develop new business leads.

The Territory Manager also plays a critical role in managing delivery issues by troubleshooting problems such as delivery mis-picks, short loads, and stock-outs to maintain customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Awareness of market conditions, product innovations, and competitive intelligence enables you to provide customers with valuable insights and maintain a competitive advantage.

Working in this role means spending most of your time outside the office within an assigned territory, conducting site visits, check-ins, and follow-ups to support your customers in various weather and environmental conditions. While the role does not include direct reports, the impact of your work is felt across many facets of the business.

This position offers a competitive salary accompanied by a market-leading performance-based incentive program. Employees enjoy a supportive and dynamic team-based selling environment along with comprehensive benefits from day one, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, an employee stock purchase plan, life insurance, and mileage reimbursement. US Foods provides a platform not only for immediate rewards but also for long-term career growth within a thriving industry that values dedication, innovation, and customer-first strategies.
