Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of sales experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle record in good standing
  • Foodservice industry, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and cold call to develop new business
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Competitive spirit
  • Strong problem-solving, organization and negotiation skills
  • Team up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 75 lbs occasionally

Job Duties

  • Be the customer champion by owning and nurturing customer relationships in a team-based selling model
  • Educate customers on ordering platforms and provide menu consultations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies
  • Drive sales success through selling to customers, increasing case growth, and acquiring new business
  • Deliver impactful sales presentations and tailor sales approaches to individual customers
  • Collaborate with specialists and internal teams such as marketing, supply chain, and customer service to assist with account penetration and new account openings
  • Utilize market intelligence, participate in organizations, clubs, trade shows, and conferences to develop new business
  • Manage delivery issues related to routing, mis picks, short loads, and stock-outs
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions, product innovations, competitor products, prices, and sales
  • Conduct regular check-ins, site visits, and follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction by driving personal motor vehicle within the assigned territory
