- Must have a high school diploma or ged
- must be able to successfully pass Benihana chef training program
- previous experience as chef or cook highly desirable

- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to perform in a fast-paced and guest-focused environment
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- perform a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- provide guests with information about Benihana foods as they are being cooked or upon guest inquiries
- respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
- ask guests for cooking preference and follow guest instructions
- prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking using kitchen equipment
- perform shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, gaskets, chef carts, and floors
