Job Description

Resort Lifestyle Communities (RLC) is a dynamic, fast-growing, family-owned company that operates more than 60 communities nationwide, dedicated to enriching the lives of seniors. At RLC, serving seniors goes beyond just a job; it is truly a calling that forms the foundation of a warm, close-knit community. The company is driven by core values such as Respect, Honesty, Kindness and Compassion, and Service Excellence. These values guide every interaction with residents and team members, fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and inspired to contribute to meaningful experiences. RLC focuses on creating vibrant, resort-style living environments that encourage seniors to enjoy their later years with dignity, joy, and purpose. The communities are designed to offer a range of living options with exceptional amenities and operational excellence led by a committed team.

The Temporary Sous Chef position at Resort Lifestyle Communities represents a highly impactful role within these caring communities. This role is a temporary assignment spanning approximately two months, providing crucial coverage to maintain the continuity and quality of kitchen operations. The Sous Chef will serve as a pivotal culinary leader, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe kitchen practices while upholding the highest standards of quality and hygiene. This position involves not only preparing and presenting a diverse array of dishes—from meats, seafood, and poultry to vegetables—using various cooking methods such as broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéeing, but also engaging with residents and staff to create memorable dining moments. The role requires stepping in for the Executive Chef when needed, demonstrating leadership, fostering a collaborative atmosphere among the kitchen team, and ensuring that meals are tailored to residents' preferences. The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience in culinary settings, a passion for delivering excellent food, and a servant-hearted attitude that aligns with RLC's mission.

In addition to culinary expertise, the Temporary Sous Chef is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitized, and well-stocked workstations and Chef’s pantry, ensuring proper handling and rotation of products to guarantee safety and freshness. Monitoring refrigeration and dish machine temperatures, adhering to closing checklists, and supporting teammates in their tasks are vital components of daily operations. Furthermore, the position involves active participation in team meetings to exchange ideas, respond constructively to feedback, and consistently enhance the dining experience. The schedule primarily covers lunch and dinner shifts from Tuesday to Saturday with occasional additional availability required for holidays and special events, emphasizing the need for flexibility.

Working at RLC offers a meaningful opportunity for culinary professionals wanting to make a real difference in senior living communities. The company provides supportive leadership within a beautiful resort-style environment, where every team member contributes to improving quality of life for seniors. This role is not simply about cooking; it is about creating heartwarming moments through food, connection, and care. The Temporary Sous Chef will join a family-like atmosphere that values kindness, service, and a sense of purpose. If you possess a servant heart and a culinary passion, this opportunity is an ideal way to showcase your skills while positively impacting a wonderful senior community.
