As a bustling food service provider on a vibrant campus, the department emphasizes quality, customer service, and cleanliness in all aspects of its operations.

The position of a Food Service Worker at RISD Dining and Catering plays a vital role in supporting the culinary and bakery staff in preparing delicious and visually appealing food items. This temporary, part-time role requires individuals who are flexible, reliable, and ready to engage in various food preparation duties such as gathering, washing, cutting vegetables, and helping with station-specific food production. Food Service Workers ensure that recipes are followed accurately to produce high-quality daily menu items while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas.

This role requires working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong focus on customer service and maintaining high culinary standards. Food Service Workers may also be tasked with operating dishwashing machines properly, maintaining equipment cleanliness, setting up and breaking down dining locations around campus, and serving customers in a professional and courteous manner. Employees must be adaptable as the position involves working at multiple campus locations to meet the dining department's needs.

Staff members at RISD Dining and Catering are considered essential personnel, which means they are required to work even when the school is closed. Shifts are available during both the AM and PM in a seven-day per week operation, providing flexible work schedules that vary weekly. This role is a wonderful opportunity for those seeking part-time, temporary employment within a respected educational institution, offering a steady work environment where teamwork, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction are priorities.
