Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or associate degree in culinary arts, hospitality education, or related field
- Two years of experience as a chef or teaching in an ACF Certified College Level Program
- Submission of unofficial/student transcript with application
- Official transcripts required upon employment
- Licensures/certificates submitted with application if required
- Official licensures/certificates required upon employment
- Ability to teach using varied instructional methods
- Commitment to participate in professional development
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with students and colleagues
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a major in culinary arts, hospitality education, or related field or associate degree with demonstrated competencies equivalent to ACF certification at chef level
- Minimum of two years of experience as a chef or two years teaching experience in an ACF Certified College Level Program
- Knowledge and skills in hospitality/tourism management and culinary operations
- Course-specific capabilities from bachelor's degree in hospitality or tourism management preferred
- Teaching experience and three years of relevant experience preferred
- Master's degree preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare for instruction of the classes assigned by the department head
- Distribute, review, and explain updated syllabi for each class
- Present instruction for classes assigned and follow syllabus guidelines
- Maintain records of attendance, grades, and student progress
- Maintain office hours or announce availability for student assistance
- Submit final grade reports within stated deadlines
- Perform administrative duties as designated
- Assist with registration and recruitment
- Participate in course outcomes data collection
- Provide regular evaluation and feedback
- Grade students in accordance with published policies
- Exhibit effective oral and written communication skills
- Maintain professional relationships with students and colleagues
- Stay current on theories and practices through professional development
- Perform other duties as assigned
