This role of Temporary Assistant Manager, Events, based at the NYC Corporate Office, presents an exciting opportunity to join Van Cleef & Arpels' esteemed Events Team. The position is full-time and contract-based, centered around supporting and executing luxury event initiatives across the Americas Region. These initiatives range from ultra-prestigious VVIP dinners and cocktails to exclusive Patrimonial exhibitions, pop-ups, and high-level conferences. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who excels in multitasking and prioritization in a high-demand and fast-paced luxury environment.

The Temporary Assistant Manager, Events acts as a pivotal support for the Events Team, collaborating closely with both corporate and retail divisions to ensure the seamless planning and execution of events that uphold the Maison’s iconic image and communication standards. The responsibilities include coordinating all phases of event production — from concept development, vendor contracting and negotiation, event logistics, onsite management, to post-event evaluation and documentation. Attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a passion for excellence are essential traits, as well as a strong understanding of luxury retail dynamics.

Candidates for this position should have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience managing events or hospitality within the luxury or jewelry industry, alongside a Bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in essential software such as Excel, PowerPoint, SAP is required, with added value placed on skills in CAD, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop. Flexibility to travel up to 40% and work beyond regular business hours is necessary, as is the capacity to anticipate boutique needs and contribute creatively to event concepts. French language skills are considered a plus.

Job Duties

  • Play a significant role in planning corporate strategic events such as High Jewelry Events, VIP Dinners, Patrimonial Exhibitions, and Regional Events including in-boutique and out-of-boutique gatherings
  • Build and maintain an active communication calendar of programs, events and ROI
  • Develop and keep updated detailed concept decks for all key stakeholders
  • Assist in the development and full implementation of event concepts including décor, catering, entertainment, models, and animations
  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders throughout the event development process
  • Manage on-site event execution
  • Communicate and coordinate with production agencies and vendors ensuring alignment with Maison’s guidelines, budget, and objectives
  • Research, contract and negotiate with vendors to secure best pricing and ensure legal compliance
  • Develop and maintain a network of trusted vendors and partners
  • Create and monitor budgets and manage invoicing and financial documentation
  • Collaborate with A&P team to ensure vendor compliance and procurement protocols
  • Compile event recaps and apply best practices
  • Streamline processes and create department systems to ensure consistency in presentation and execution
