Job Description

Encore is a leading global provider of event technology and production services, specializing in hospitality environments such as hotels and convention centers. With decades of industry experience, Encore delivers innovative audiovisual solutions tailored to meet client needs for a wide variety of mid-level production events. The company prides itself on combining cutting-edge technology with superior customer service to ensure flawless event execution. Employees at Encore benefit from the dynamic environment of working with a global leader, gaining exposure to state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, diverse hospitality settings, and comprehensive professional development programs.

The Technical Specialist role at Encore is essential for ensuring high-quality technical setup and smooth operation of mid-level production events within the hospitality industry. This position requires expertise in the use and troubleshooting of advanced audiovisual equipment encompassing audio, lighting, projection, and video technologies during events hosted primarily in hotels or convention centers. Reporting to an Associate Director or Director of Project Management, the Technical Specialist plays a critical role in delivering exemplary service and ensuring total client satisfaction. The hourly pay range for this role is $25.19 to $32.75, with final compensation reflective of experience, location, and skills. Some positions may also be eligible for overtime, bonuses, or additional incentives.

In addition to technical proficiency, the Technical Specialist must demonstrate strong customer service skills to effectively maintain client relationships and collaborate with internal teams for seamless event execution. This role requires the individual to oversee setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment, troubleshoot any technical issues during events to guarantee flawless performance, and comply with all security and safety standards to protect equipment integrity. Furthermore, responsible stewardship extends to assisting with equipment inventory, maintenance, security, and transportation, ensuring all equipment is in proper working order and ready for use.

Another key aspect of the role is the supervision and mentorship of junior technicians and other team members. The Technical Specialist fosters a learning atmosphere, providing coaching to enhance technical and leadership skills within the team. Staying current on industry trends and continuously developing technical expertise are integral to this position, allowing the specialist to act as a subject matter expert. This role demands flexibility in working hours, including irregular schedules, weekends, holidays, and on-call status to meet the demands of live events.

Physically, the role involves moderate lifting, extended periods of standing and walking, as well as working at heights using lifts or ladders. The environment varies from quiet settings to noisy venues with exposure to dust, dirt, and various weather conditions. Adherence to company appearance guidelines and safety protocols is mandatory in all work environments, whether on-site at hotels, convention centers, or warehouse facilities.

Overall, the role of Technical Specialist at Encore is perfect for professionals passionate about audiovisual technology and hospitality event production, seeking an engaging and rewarding career. Successful candidates will join a company dedicated to diversity, inclusion, and supporting personal growth within a collaborative work culture while delivering world-class services to clients globally.
