The role of Technical Service Manager at Textron Aviation based in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a pivotal position within the service center's operational team. This full-time, first-shift managerial role involves direct supervision of a team of aircraft maintenance technicians, focusing on maintaining efficient hangar operations and supporting the overall maintenance management activities. As the primary point of contact for all aircraft maintenance matters, the Technical Service Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional quality standards and safety protocols are met, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and safety. By collaborating closely with the Customer Service Manager, this position helps maintain strong relationships with clients through timely updates and resolution of maintenance issues.

Key responsibilities include implementing lean manufacturing principles to optimize productivity and reduce waste by applying methods such as the 5S technique and coordinating team development events. The manager is responsible for enforcing quality assurance practices that comply with established policies and safety regulations to uphold the highest standards in aircraft maintenance. They also oversee safety protocols, schedule adherence, and operational efficiency within the service center to cultivate a safe and productive working environment. Performance monitoring through analysis of key metrics such as labor utilization efficiency, billing efficiency, productivity, and adherence to maintenance schedules is essential for identifying trends and facilitating corrective actions. Supervisory duties encompass task assignment, coaching, performance evaluations, disciplinary measures, and collaboration with team members on workplace conditions and ergonomics.

To be successful in this role, candidates should preferably hold a bachelor’s degree or, alternatively, have a minimum of five years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience combined with supervisory expertise. An A&P License is required, while holding a Repairman Certificate or EASA License is considered beneficial. Experience specifically in aircraft maintenance is advantageous, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge where applicable.
