The current opening is for a Secondary Teacher with a specialization in Culinary Arts (ProStart) at the FutureForward program housed within the Bollman Tech Education Center. This role is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position spanning nine months per year, with standard hours totaling 40 per week. The salary aligns with the district's certified salary schedule, where compensation is determined based on education and relevant experience. The Culinary Arts Teacher will join a vibrant program aimed at preparing high school students for careers in hospitality, culinary arts, and tourism through a blend of rigorous classroom instruction and hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen environment. This multifaceted role involves teaching courses covering food science, safety and sanitation, culinary techniques, foodservice operations, and professional standards within the hospitality industry. The program emphasizes real-world application and industry relevance, helping students develop practical skills and workplace readiness.

As an educator, the candidate will utilize effective teaching methods to ensure student success and promote an exemplary educational experience that fosters achievement for all students. Collaboration and communication with fellow instructors, administrative staff, parents, and support personnel are essential in meeting diverse student learning needs. In addition, the Culinary Arts Teacher will serve as an advisor for the program’s Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), facilitating student engagement in leadership activities, conferences, competitions, and other events, while also managing supervision responsibilities during daytime and overnight activities.

The role demands an instructor with industry experience in hospitality and/or foodservice who can model professional standards and workplace expectations effectively. For those without current Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching authorization, the district provides a pathway to obtain required credentials through verification of work experience and professional certifications or coursework aligned with the culinary arts industry.
