As a Tax Associate, you will engage with clients to gather information and understand their tax situations, prepare accurate tax returns with hands-on training from experienced teammates, and explain tax details clearly in a manner that is easy for clients to understand. This position emphasizes personalized client interaction, problem-solving, and the ability to identify tax savings opportunities while recommending relevant products and services.

H&R Block views this role as a foundational step for employees to grow within the company. The Seasonal Tax Associate role offers a competitive starting hourly rate beginning at $15.00 with opportunities to increase earnings as you develop your tax expertise and advance in the position. This role demands flexibility as associates may work between 15 to 35 hours weekly, with possibilities of full-time hours up to 40 per week during peak tax season. Evenings and weekend work are also required during busy periods to meet client needs effectively.

The company values clear communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and comfort using digital and AI-based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT, reflecting their commitment to merging traditional tax expertise with modern technological tools for improved client outcomes. With a solid foundation in client service and tax knowledge, Seasonal Tax Associates build strong relationships with clients, collaborate with team members, and contribute to office priorities while upholding a client-first approach.

H&R Block also emphasizes well-being and work-life balance, providing flexible schedules and employee benefits such as employee assistance programs and employee discounts. The company’s supportive environment and competitive benefits package make it an excellent choice for individuals eager to begin a rewarding, client-focused career in the tax industry.
