The role of Systems Support Engineer is crucial within Optum's automation infrastructure. This full-time, onsite position located at 1830 South Horne, Mesa, AZ, involves the setup, ongoing support, and management of critical automation hardware, including PCs, servers, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). The Systems Support Engineer will interface closely with pharmacy staff and internal stakeholders to diagnose system issues and ensure the smooth operation of automated fulfillment lines. The role demands collaboration with diverse teams during software upgrades, equipment installations, and routine maintenance to uphold system performance and reliability. Candidates will be expected to work flexible shifts within business hours, with occasional overtime or weekend hours based on business needs. Initial on-the-job training is provided to prepare employees, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle the technical demands of the position. With a focus on utilizing data analytics to troubleshoot and optimize systems, this role calls for proficiency in technical problem-solving and communication skills to maintain high standards of operational efficiency. The salary range for this position is $72,800 to $130,000 per year, reflective of local labor markets, experience, and certifications. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years experience in technology support, system management or administration
  • Proficiency in problem solving
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Beginner level proficiency or interest in databases, SQL and data tools
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Flexibility to work 8-hour shifts between 5:00 am - 2:00 pm or 9:00 am - 5:00 pm PST
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime or weekends
  • Pass pre-employment drug test

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of experience in technology support, system management, or technology administration role
  • Proficiency with problem solving and delivering within time constraints
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Beginner level proficiency or interest in databases, SQL, and data tools
  • Ability to work flexible full-time shifts within business hours
  • Experience administrating Windows systems preferred
  • Experience applying Windows updates and installing hardware drivers preferred
  • Experience with technology monitoring tools preferred
  • Experience using ticketing systems like ServiceNow or JIRA preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, automation, or fulfillment centers preferred
  • Experience in the Pharmacy Benefits Management industry preferred

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the setup, ongoing support, and management of critical automation PCs, servers, and PLCs
  • Interfacing and communicating with pharmacy workers and stakeholders to understand system problems and update issue statuses
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams for software upgrades, bug fixes, software patching, and implementing new equipment and features
  • Work closely with partners teams to coordinate project activities during installs and extended support
  • Assist with debugging PLCs, networking, power systems, I/O devices on the automation line
  • Use data analytic skills to troubleshoot and improve performance and reliability of equipment and entire system
  • Other duties may be assigned based on business needs
