GovCIO is currently seeking a Systems Administrator Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong Microsoft Exchange knowledge to support an Air Force Intelligence System based in San Antonio, Texas. This is an onsite position that requires a highly skilled individual to maintain and optimize computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware in both networked and stand-alone environments. The Systems Administrator SME will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and performance of system infrastructures by performing upgrades, installations, evaluations, and configurations of Microsoft products, especially those that support Microsoft Exchange Server.

This position offers an annual salary range of $90,000 to $95,000 USD and requires active TS/SCI clearance. The role demands expertise in troubleshooting, isolating, and resolving complex technical problems related to Microsoft Exchange and Windows environments. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining system health by conducting daily system checks, writing or modifying scripts to automate tasks, and collaborating with other technical teams to enhance network and system configurations. The role also involves planning and implementing security measures to protect data, software, and hardware, which is essential to maintain operational integrity in sensitive environments.

Beyond technical responsibilities, the Systems Administrator SME will also be involved in documenting new procedures, helping to create operational instructions, and recommending improvements to system performance and network architecture. Job Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 - 9 years of relevant experience or commensurate experience
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification
  • MS-102 or LFCA or technology-specific certifications
  • Experience as system administrator in medium to large Windows environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Ability to perform daily system health checks
  • Ability to install software on Windows Servers
  • Ability to troubleshoot in Windows environments
  • Ability to develop standard operating procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification
  • MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert) or LFCA (Linux Foundation Certified IT Associate) or other technology-specific certifications

Job Duties

  • Establish and maintain smooth operation of computer systems including operating systems, software, and hardware
  • Install, evaluate, and configure Microsoft products supporting Microsoft Exchange Server infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, integrate, and correct problems encountered in products installation and use
  • Create and document new methods supporting network/system operations
  • Consult with support teams and customers to resolve technical issues
  • Plan and implement network/system security measures
  • Monitor performance of system files and manage system data to maintain efficiencies
