The role open for application is for a CDL A Switcher based in Savannah, GA (Pooler, GA). This position is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of the warehouse and yard by safely and efficiently moving trailers to and from dock locations. The Switcher is responsible for ensuring timely trailer movement, which supports overall supply chain fluidity. Employees in this role operate heavy machinery confidently and adhere strictly to safety requirements and DOT regulations to minimize risks and maintain high safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Minimum of 1 year Class A driving experience or equivalent military driving experience within the last 3 years
  • Ability to maintain a safety-focused driving history
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Successful passing of DOT pre-employment drug screening
  • Meet DOT medical qualifications
  • Current DOT physical certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed

Job Duties

  • Safely move trailers to and from the warehouse dock to yard locations in a timely manner
  • Operate commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and transporting inspections on vehicles and cargo
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse and dispatch personnel to coordinate trailer movements
  • Maintain a safety-focused driving record and adhere to company safety policies
  • Assist with loading and unloading trailers as needed
  • Participate in paid orientation and safety training programs
