Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise cutting and assembly of sushi
  • ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 pounds
  • work in a potentially hot and fast-paced kitchen environment
  • pushing and pulling occasionally to move equipment
  • ability to handle moderate to high noise levels in the kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a sushi cook or similar role
  • in-depth knowledge of sushi preparation techniques
  • strong knife skills and precision in handling raw fish and other ingredients
  • ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality sushi dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
  • ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation
  • handle, slice, and present fish and other ingredients with precision and attention to detail
  • collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient and organized work-flow
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the sushi preparation area
  • monitor and manage inventory levels of sushi ingredients
  • uphold food safety regulations and practices
  • may be required to perform other duties as needed to support the overall goals and objectives of the team and organization
