The company prides itself on a strong culture of hospitality, creativity, and craftsmanship, fostering an environment where employees can thrive and contribute to creating memorable experiences for guests. With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, Hai Hospitality embraces a team-oriented approach and continuous growth, positioning itself as a coveted employer in the competitive restaurant industry. The group is passionate about giving back and maintaining an atmosphere where employees feel proud of their work ethic and creative contributions.

In this exciting opportunity for Sushi Chefs, you will become an integral member of the Hai Hospitality culinary team, specializing in Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi. Sushi Chefs at Hai Hospitality play a vital role in enriching the guests’ dining experience by serving high-quality dishes crafted with precision and care. Compensation includes an average hourly wage of $25 (combining hourly base rate and tips) alongside a generous $1,250 sign-on bonus, payable after successful completion of training and 90 days of employment. This role not only offers gainful employment but also excellent opportunities for long-term career advancement within the organization.

As a Sushi Chef, you will be introduced to a diverse and innovative menu, gaining hands-on experience in mastering sushi techniques under the tutelage of experienced chef teams. The position involves understanding product handling and waste reduction, direct interaction with guests at the sushi bar to take orders and explain dishes, and collaborating with colleagues to develop new culinary creations for both the specials page and the core menu. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, ideal for individuals who thrive under pressure and are eager to continuously learn and improve their skills. This role also promotes teamwork, humility, positive communication, and emotional intelligence while encouraging humor and a solution-oriented mindset.

Hai Hospitality values candidates who come with a passion for food and beverage, self-motivation, and the ability to adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced setting. Communicating effectively with guests and team members is essential, alongside a commitment to safety, cleanliness, and professionalism. Candidates are expected to demonstrate physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive motions in a sometimes hot or cold kitchen environment. The company provides a supportive atmosphere where feedback is embraced, and personal growth through shared knowledge is encouraged.

Joining Hai Hospitality means joining a family that promotes from within and invests in employee well-being through comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance options, mental health services via an Employee Assistance Program, employer-matched 401k savings plans, and generous dining discounts. The company is proud to uphold equal employment opportunities and actively participates in compliance programs like E-Verify at its Arizona and Florida locations, ensuring a lawful and ethical workplace.

This role is perfect for culinary professionals seeking to advance their sushi-making craft in a respected, innovative restaurant group dedicated to quality, service, and community.
