Job Requirements
- Current foodservice certificates as required by state law and KMG procedures
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to adapt to changing kitchen temperatures
- Ability to occasionally travel by airline
Job Qualifications
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret recipes and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Prior cooking experience preferred
- Strong understanding of safety practices
Job Duties
- Follow recipes and adhere to restaurant standards
- Expertly cut, slice, and fillet different types of fish
- Inspect quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used for sushi
- Prepare various sushi dishes according to quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety guidelines
- Maintain a clean work environment to prevent food contamination
- Report problems with kitchen equipment to the manager on duty
- Communicate with wait staff to ensure special requests and allergy considerations are met
