We are currently seeking skilled and enthusiastic Sushi Chefs to join our team and help build the foundation of Freddy's reputation for excellence. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about sushi preparation and eager to work in a fast-paced, innovative restaurant setting. Sushi Chefs at Freddy's are responsible for crafting visually appealing and delicious sushi dishes that meet our high standards for quality, portion control, and presentation. Working alongside a dedicated kitchen team, the Sushi Chef plays a critical role in delivering a top-tier dining experience that aligns with the brand's creative ethos and customer expectations. Employment is full-time with variable hours that may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the vibrant energy of our restaurant. The position requires physical stamina, since it involves prolonged standing, bending, and handling of kitchen equipment and supplies. Job Requirements

  • Current foodservice certificates as required by state law and KMG procedures
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to adapt to changing kitchen temperatures
  • Ability to occasionally travel by airline

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret recipes and procedure manuals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Prior cooking experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of safety practices

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and adhere to restaurant standards
  • Expertly cut, slice, and fillet different types of fish
  • Inspect quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used for sushi
  • Prepare various sushi dishes according to quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety guidelines
  • Maintain a clean work environment to prevent food contamination
  • Report problems with kitchen equipment to the manager on duty
  • Communicate with wait staff to ensure special requests and allergy considerations are met
