We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team at Sakura Hibachi Catering, Inc. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality sushi dishes that align with established recipes and company standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or catering setting
  • In-depth knowledge of sushi types, ingredients, and preparation techniques
  • Proficiency in sushi knife skills and safe handling of raw fish
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve high-quality sushi dishes to customers according to established recipes and standards
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in sushi preparation
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to coordinate sushi orders and maintain efficient service
  • Stay updated with industry trends and new techniques in sushi preparation and presentation
  • Provide excellent customer service and address any customer inquiries or special requests
  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment
  • Monitor freshness of food and ingredients, rotate stock
  • Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus and manage costs
  • Coordinate and supervise work of kitchen staff
