The company has built a strong foundation characterized by quality workmanship, lasting relationships, and dependable results. MacKay is currently in an exciting phase of expansion, growing its capabilities, geographic reach, and service offerings. This growth presents unique opportunities for employees to engage in meaningful work, collaborate across different professional disciplines, and build long-term career paths. The culture at MacKay is people-first, focused on fostering an environment where individuals can contribute their best, pursue professional growth, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and thrive both personally and professionally.

As part of this expansion, MacKay is seeking a dedicated Survey Technician to join their survey team located in Roseville, California. This position involves both office and field responsibilities that support the efforts of Professional Land Surveyors in preparing accurate and high-quality data for land survey projects. The technician will be responsible for producing detailed drawings and deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D, a critical software in the industry. The role offers a collaborative work experience with professional land surveyors, engineers, and land use planners, working on diverse land development projects that shape communities and help clients realize their visions. The position includes responsibilities such as applying survey information, reducing field notes for design layouts, conducting base mapping and overlay preparations, and assisting with storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and street design projects. It also involves checking compliance with jurisdictional codes and maintaining accurate survey and engineering records. Occasional out-of-town travel for fieldwork is expected.

The compensation range for this full-time role is between $30 and $60 per hour, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. MacKay provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes company-sponsored medical plans with options for HSA high deductible, dental, vision, FSA, and supplemental life insurance. The company offers 100% paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with up to a 4% company match, paid vacation, sick time, paid holidays, and opportunities for employee ownership. MacKay values honesty, dedication, and relationship-building as core company values, fostering a culture grounded in transparency, integrity, accountability, commitment to success, and creating strong team connections.

Employment at MacKay requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen. The firm is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify as a federal contractor.
