Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years of experience in stewarding
  • at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • knowledge of sanitation standards and kitchen operations
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • physically able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
  • good communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • vocational training in hospitality or culinary arts preferred
  • minimum 2 years of experience in stewarding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • familiarity with sanitation standards and kitchen operations
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • good communication and organizational skills
  • physically fit and able to stand for long periods and carry/lift moderate weights

Job Duties

  • Supervise stewarding team to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and dishware
  • maintain hygiene and safety standards as per HACCP or local health guidelines
  • ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, stored, and handled properly
  • assist in the setup and breakdown of banquet functions by ensuring timely delivery and return of all required equipment
  • maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and stewarding tools
  • schedule and assign daily tasks to stewards and monitor their performance
  • train new stewarding staff and conduct refresher training on safety and sanitation procedures
  • coordinate with chefs and banquet team to ensure smooth kitchen and event operations
  • report any malfunctioning equipment or hazards to the engineering and/or kitchen management team
  • conduct regular inspections of the stewarding area and keep proper documentation
  • monitor usage of cleaning chemicals and ensure proper handling and storage
