Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years of experience in stewarding
- at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- knowledge of sanitation standards and kitchen operations
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- physically able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
- good communication skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- vocational training in hospitality or culinary arts preferred
- minimum 2 years of experience in stewarding, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- strong leadership and team management skills
- familiarity with sanitation standards and kitchen operations
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to flexible work hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- good communication and organizational skills
- physically fit and able to stand for long periods and carry/lift moderate weights
Job Duties
- Supervise stewarding team to ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and dishware
- maintain hygiene and safety standards as per HACCP or local health guidelines
- ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned, stored, and handled properly
- assist in the setup and breakdown of banquet functions by ensuring timely delivery and return of all required equipment
- maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and stewarding tools
- schedule and assign daily tasks to stewards and monitor their performance
- train new stewarding staff and conduct refresher training on safety and sanitation procedures
- coordinate with chefs and banquet team to ensure smooth kitchen and event operations
- report any malfunctioning equipment or hazards to the engineering and/or kitchen management team
- conduct regular inspections of the stewarding area and keep proper documentation
- monitor usage of cleaning chemicals and ensure proper handling and storage
