Job Description
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is a premier federal agency responsible for providing national security intelligence to senior U.S. policymakers. As a globally recognized intelligence organization, the CIA operates both domestically and internationally to gather and analyze critical information, support U.S. foreign policy objectives, and combat threats to national security. Known for its commitment to innovation, discretion, and excellence, the CIA offers a dynamic work environment that fosters professional growth and meaningful contributions to national security. The agency values adaptability, initiative, and collaboration among its workforce, making it a sought-after employer for individuals passionate about serving their country and engaging in complex global challenges.
The Support Integration Officer (SIO) role at the CIA is a unique and critical position designed to offer multidisciplinary operational support across various functions such as finance, logistics, human resources, security, facilities, and project management. SIOs play a vital role in resolving tactical and location-specific challenges by creating and applying processes that enhance mission effectiveness. This full-time position comes with a starting salary range of $75,972 to $100,097 per year, with a possibility of a higher salary depending on experience level. Employment involves a minimum five-year contract term, underscoring the significance and commitment expected from SIOs.
In this role, you will undergo an initial year of intensive training and developmental assignments in the Washington, DC metro area, including a 14-week full-time support certification program. Upon successful completion, you will be assigned to a foreign field tour typically lasting two years, potentially in hardship locations, based on mission needs and your demonstrated capabilities. The work environment demands a global readiness to serve, requiring adaptability, sound judgment, and strong leadership skills. The SIO position is ideal for individuals with backgrounds in business administration, public administration, communications, or related fields and those experienced in areas such as contract management, resource management, performance measurement, intelligence operations, and customer service.
SIOs contribute to the intelligence mission by ensuring seamless operational support that enables intelligence officers and analysts to focus on core intelligence tasks. Their responsibilities include managing budgets, overseeing logistics, providing human resource support, enhancing security protocols, and maintaining facilities. Successful SIOs excel in problem-solving, make informed decisions, and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders. The role offers a challenging yet rewarding career path, combining domestic and international assignments that promote professional development and a balanced career in intelligence support operations. Joining the CIA as a Support Integration Officer means becoming part of an elite team dedicated to national and global safety, offering a meaningful opportunity to impact the world while advancing a career in intelligence support.
