The Food Services Supervisor role at Job Options Inc. is a critical supervisory position responsible for overseeing food service staff and coordinating various operational activities within the dining environment. Reporting directly to Project Managers, the supervisor ensures that daily meal service, sanitation, and maintenance duties are performed efficiently and in compliance with contract specifications. This role requires strong leadership to direct employees engaged in serving meals, cleaning dining areas, washing dishes, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of both front-of-house and back-of-house areas including dish washing and pot washing rooms, restrooms, and outdoor spaces.

The supervisor may perform routine inspections as scheduled, assist with inventory management, and report any deficiencies or issues to higher management. They also play a pivotal role in training new employees, demonstrating proper techniques, and instructing on the safe use of equipment and procedures. Communication is a key component, as the supervisor informs Project Managers of any incidents or behaviors that could impact the company's relationship with its clients or breach contract requirements. Maintaining accurate logs and promptly reporting urgent incidents ensures seamless operational continuity.

This position demands adherence to all safety policies and technical procedures and requires punctuality and regular attendance. The Food Services Supervisor works in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods. Candidates must show a commitment to cleanliness and safety standards, willing to learn and grow within their role, supported through ongoing training and mentorship. The role also involves compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Candidates are expected to have at least one year of food service experience, completed specific training as a Mess Attendant Lead, and possess a high school diploma or GED. Food safety certification such as Serve Safe or Navy Food Handlers Certification (PIC) must be obtained within 90 days of hire, alongside required sexual harassment training. Strong communication skills, the ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents, and perform routine arithmetic calculations are essential.

Job Duties

  • Supervise staff engaged in serving meals cleaning dining rooms washing dishes cleaning dish washing and pot washing rooms cleaning restrooms removing trash and maintaining outside areas
  • perform inspections of work assignments and inventories as scheduled
  • conduct training and orientation for new employees in managers absence
  • demonstrate proper techniques and instruct on safety equipment usage
  • report behaviors or incidents detrimental to company relations and contract requirements
  • maintain accurate daily logs and communicate incidents to Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager
  • adhere to company rules safety procedures and policies and ensure punctual and regular attendance
  • perform all other duties as assigned
