Job Description

Snowbird is a renowned resort nestled in the heart of the Wasatch Mountain Range in Salt Lake City, Utah. Famous for its awe-inspiring views and challenging terrain, Snowbird is not just a premier destination for outdoor enthusiasts but also a workplace that values remarkable employees who share a passion for mountains and outdoor activities. The resort operates distinct summer and winter seasons, providing a unique and dynamic environment for both guests and staff. Snowbird offers a variety of employment opportunities including full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions, catering to diverse employment needs and fostering a vibrant community for those who enjoy the outdoors and hospitality industry.

The role of Summit Cashier at Snowbird is a pivotal position within the Food and Beverage department. This full-time role requires a flexible schedule as it varies based on business needs, including weekends and holidays. The Summit Cashier is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience through excellent guest service, accurate transaction processing, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining areas. This role is a combination of cashier and counter server duties, requiring versatility to support various restaurant areas while ensuring prompt, friendly, and professional service to guests. The position demands competency in using the Square Point of Sale system and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, handling a variety of payment methods with accuracy, assisting guests with menu inquiries and beverage selections, and ensuring the dining area remains clean and welcoming. The cashier also supports kitchen and front-of-house communication, manages inventory to ensure adequate food supplies, and adheres to state policies for responsible alcohol service. The role necessitates reliability, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills to maintain operational efficiency and a positive guest experience.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Food Handler and Alcohol Certifications are required, supporting the lawful and safe handling of food and beverages. Although previous cashier or restaurant experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, as a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure are highly valued. The position also requires physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds throughout shifts, which may occasionally demand overnight stays during winter weather-related road closures.

Snowbird is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and discrimination-free workplace, welcoming employees of all backgrounds, beliefs, and orientations. The resort offers a variety of benefits including ski pass privileges, employee discounts on dining, retail, lodging, and daycare, and access to medical, dental, vision, and accident insurance options based on hire status. Additional perks such as a 401k savings plan, discounts with partner companies, and free transportation options via public and company shuttles enhance the employment experience.

This role not only demands a customer-focused mindset but also a collaborative spirit to work alongside multiple departments within the resort. Working at Snowbird means becoming part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and sharing a love for the outdoor lifestyle. Whether you are seeking year-round or seasonal work, the Summit Cashier position offers an enriching employment opportunity that combines teamwork, skill development, and the chance to be immersed in one of Utah's most spectacular mountain settings. If you thrive in energetic environments and enjoy creating memorable experiences for guests, Snowbird invites you to apply and become part of their exceptional team.
