Job Description

ATG Entertainment is a distinguished leader in the global live entertainment industry, renowned for owning, operating, and programming some of the world's most iconic theaters and venues across the UK, the United States, and Germany. With a portfolio that includes 64 venues ranging from historic theaters to modern live music arenas, ATG Entertainment attracts more than 18 million audience members annually. Their operations encompass a variety of world-class productions, including acclaimed musicals, plays, concerts, and comedy shows. The company's mission emphasizes delivering unforgettable experiences for theatergoers while supporting the creative talents behind these performances. Their core values are ambitious, collaborative, passionate, and smart, driving a culture of excellence and innovation throughout the organization. ATG Entertainment is committed to inclusivity and diversity through their IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) mission statement, which underscores their dedication to fostering a welcoming and equitable environment where everyone can bring their authentic selves and feel they belong.

The role of Enthusiastic Substitute Porter within ATG Entertainment represents a vital position on the Theatre Operations team, responsible for maintaining the pristine condition of five historic Broadway theaters: the St. James, the Al Hirschfeld, the August Wilson, the Eugene O'Neill, and the Walter Kerr. Although direct theatrical performance experience is not required, this role requires a dynamic individual who thrives in a high-energy environment with a keen attention to detail. Substitute Porters help ensure that all public and backstage areas are impeccably clean and welcoming, including lobbies, restrooms, dressing rooms, and the sidewalks in front of the theaters. This position involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, removing trash, and polishing brass fixtures to uphold the aesthetic and safety standards of these celebrated venues. The role demands exceptional interpersonal skills as porters often engage directly with the public during performances, necessitating a friendly and helpful demeanor combined with initiative to keep the theaters looking beautiful and operationally sound for all guests. This is a collaborative position within a respectful and driven company culture that values teamwork and exceptional customer service. The employment is offered on an hourly basis with a base pay of $23 per hour and includes comprehensive 32BJ union benefits like health insurance and pension plans. Candidates must have a flexible schedule availability, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, making adaptability a key requirement for success in this role. Ultimately, ATG Entertainment offers a stage for everyone and invites passionate individuals to join their dedicated team to contribute to the magic of live Broadway performances from behind the scenes.
