The Store Manager position at Perry Ellis International plays a pivotal role in spearheading the successful daily operation of retail stores. This full-time leadership role is responsible for driving all store activities to meet or exceed financial goals, optimize customer satisfaction, and uphold brand standards. The Store Manager takes ownership of key facets including sales and profit targets, human resources functions like team development and retention, payroll and cost control, loss prevention strategies, and merchandise presentation standards.

In this leadership capacity, the Store Manager is expected to serve as a role model, prioritizing customer experience by addressing complaints and needs with empathy and professionalism. Achieving high scores on secret shopper evaluations and demonstrating in-depth product knowledge are critical components of the role. Additionally, the manager is charged with aligning the store’s strategic execution with corporate and district directives, analyzing financial and inventory reports to drive profitability, and educating the team on pertinent trends and opportunities.

Operationally, the Store Manager oversees staffing, workflow prioritization, compliance with company policies, store appearance, and asset protection. This role requires active engagement in recruitment, training, coaching, and motivating staff, fostering a respectful and high-performing team atmosphere. The manager must effectively govern loss prevention efforts and communicate any incidents promptly to district leadership.

Visual merchandising and brand integrity are also under the Store Manager’s supervision. They ensure adherence to visual guidelines, timely execution of planograms, and clear articulation of the brand's position to the team, guaranteeing that merchandise presentation optimizes customer appeal and sales potential.
