Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the American Chinese restaurant industry, proudly operating as the largest family-owned Asian dining concept in the United States. Since its founding in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has expanded to nearly 2,800 locations globally, delivering exceptional dining experiences inspired by family values and community engagement. The company’s mission is to create a workplace that inspires associates to improve their lives and positively impact the communities where they operate. Panda Express is committed to the professional and personal growth of its associates, offering comprehensive support systems including paid leadership training, ongoing career development, and a supportive community environment.
As a Store Manager at Panda Express, you will take full charge of the operations of a single store, which involves hiring, managing, and directing associates to achieve the store’s financial goals while ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This leadership role is critical in driving store success through the effective management of team members and resources. Candidates are supported through an immersive 8-week or longer Store Leadership Training Program designed to prepare them thoroughly for success in the role. The training equips managers with skills in operations management, team leadership, customer service excellence, and financial goal achievement.
This full-time position offers a competitive pay range between $27 to $30 per hour, with additional bonus opportunities based on performance, and includes a generous benefits package. The role demands flexibility, requiring availability for various shifts including opening and closing, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs. Flexible relocation within a 50-mile radius of the associate’s home might also be required. Store Managers at Panda Express are expected to maintain high standards of food safety, demonstrated by the requirement for Serve Safe certification.
Panda Express promotes a safe and dynamic work environment where associates must be able to handle physical demands such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in high-temperature kitchen areas. Effective verbal communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, often noisy environment are essential. The company emphasizes inclusion and equal opportunity, complying with all applicable laws and providing accommodations for applicants as needed.
The role offers several rewarding benefits including free meals while working, comprehensive health insurance options including medical, vision, and dental coverage, retirement savings plans with company matching contributions, paid time off, holidays, bereavement leave, and more. Associates also benefit from unique perks such as discounts on theme parks, gym memberships, scholarships for continuous education, and opportunities for community involvement. Panda Express values family, career development, and employee welfare, making it an excellent environment for professionals seeking growth and stability in the restaurant management industry.
