The Wine Outlet is a locally owned wine and specialty food retailer with three stores in the Northern Virginia area. We're not a big box, we are a neighborhood shop where great service, a thoughtfully curated selection and genuine relationships with our customers are what set us apart. Our Vienna store is looking for a Store Manager to lead the team and run day-to-day operations.

What you'll do

• Lead, schedule, and develop the store team, creating a welcoming and knowledgeable atmosphere for customers and staff alike.
• Manage daily operations including opening/closing, inventory, merchandising, and loss prevention.
• Drive sales and work toward store performance goals.
• Build and develop lasting customer relationships, getting to know regulars and turning first-time shoppers into loyal customers.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading from the floor, helping customers, making recommendations, and resolving issues.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and distributors to support selection and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations governing the sale of alcohol, and keep the store safe and welcoming.

What we're looking for

• Prior retail or restaurant experience is a strong plus, especially in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Wine knowledge is a plus, but not required. We're happy to teach the right person.
• Comfort with point-of-sale and inventory systems, or the willingness to learn.
• A hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor and building a team.
• Reliable availability, including Fridays, Saturdays, and other peak business days.
• Must be 21 or older.

Physical requirements

• On your feet for 8+ hours with regular bending, lifting, and moving of stock.
• Able to regularly lift and handle cases (up to ~50 lbs).
