The role of Store Housekeeper at Town Pump is integral to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall welcoming atmosphere of the store and its common areas. This position is designed for a motivated and outgoing individual who takes pride in cleanliness and customer service. The Store Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining all interior and exterior housekeeping duties, including restrooms, laundry areas, showers, the professional driver’s lounge, and other shared spaces. This ensures that all areas meet Town Pump’s high standards of hygiene and presentation, contributing to a positive shopping and working environment for customers and staff alike. Furthermore, the role involves supporting other store operations by assisting cashiers and maintenance employees as needed, enhancing teamwork and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include cleaning and stocking restrooms with toiletry items, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining all common areas, cleaning showers after each use, managing supplies such as ice, sweeping and mopping floors, and maintaining windows and ledges. The Store Housekeeper will also be tasked with laundry operations, including washing, folding, and putting away towels and other laundered items. An essential part of the job is to engage professionally with store patrons, delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a friendly and helpful environment throughout the store. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in housekeeping or janitorial roles preferred
- ability to maintain cleanliness and attention to detail
- good communication skills
- reliable and punctual
- ability to handle physical demands of the job including lifting and standing for long periods
- flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
- strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- ability to interact professionally with customers and staff
- basic knowledge of cleaning products and methods
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- good physical condition able to perform cleaning tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
Job Duties
- accountable for housekeeping inside and outside the store including restrooms laundry room showers professional driver’s lounge and other common areas
- empty trash containers
- fill and maintain window wash stations
- assist store cashiers or maintenance personnel when necessary
- clean and maintain toiletry items in restrooms
- vacuum dust and clean professional driver’s lounge and other common areas
- clean showers after each use and replenish toiletry supplies
- bag and stock ice
- complete other duties assigned by management
- sweep and mop floors in stores as assigned
- clean windows and ledges
- wash fold and put away shower towels and other store-laundered items
- interact with the public providing exceptional customer service
- assist cashiers maintenance personnel or managers as needed
