The Store Director role at Fresh Thyme is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations. This includes managing store events, sales promotions, budgeting, cost control, labor allocation, and overall customer service experience. The Store Director ensures efficient store operations by collaborating with all departments to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and merchandising. Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred
  • minimum of 6 years professional experience
  • 5-7 years grocery retail experience preferred
  • experience in overall store operations and merchandising processes
  • previous natural foods industry experience a plus

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Job Duties

  • Work with all departments to ensure and maintain appropriate functioning of entire store operations
  • prepare weekly sales and labor projections, execute plans, and achieve budgeted payroll percentage
  • oversee department managers including monitoring hiring practices, scheduling techniques, and labor cost control
  • hire, develop, evaluate, and supervise department managers and staff
  • manage store financials including profit and loss statements
  • analyze financial statements for daily business operations
  • maintain store sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with laws
  • maintain a safe work environment for employees, vendors, and customers
  • monitor cash management and approve expenses
  • coordinate communication with support department directors
  • ensure monthly inventory counts and deadlines are met
  • address customer issues, personnel situations, and policy violations
  • coordinate store events including sales flyers, merchandising plans, inventories, and promotions
  • oversee merchandising, loss prevention, and store appearance
  • anticipate business fluctuations and adjust labor allocation
  • maintain high product knowledge and preparation
  • regularly inspect departments for organization and cleanliness
  • perform other duties as assigned
