The position available is for a team member responsible for preparing and baking items in adherence to Whole Foods Market’s high standards. This role requires individuals who can consistently produce baked goods that align with quality expectations, while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. Key responsibilities of this role include measuring and mixing ingredients precisely according to recipes, forming and shaping dough, monitoring bake times and temperatures, and ensuring that all baking operations comply with health and safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • standing or walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day
  • hand use including single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • ability to perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching motions
  • exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • exposure to temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit, and above 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • ability to use tools and equipment including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • may require use of ladders

Job Qualifications

  • 6-12 months retail experience

Job Duties

  • Measures, mixes, and prepares raw materials according to company specifications and recipes
  • forms, cuts, molds, shapes, and bakes dough
  • monitors cooking completion times and sets heat and humidity temperatures for proof box
  • checks product to ensure it meets WFM quality standards
  • ensures temp, sweep, and sanitation logs are completed
  • arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings
  • provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner
  • models suggestive selling techniques
  • maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • reports safety hazards and violations immediately
  • performs other duties as assigned by leadership
