The Steward position at The Belgrove Resort offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and guest service within a luxury hospitality setting. This role focuses on the proper washing and sanitizing of tableware, pots, pans, and utensils, ensuring that all items are spotless and readily available to support the dining and kitchen teams. The Steward will also be responsible for stocking supplies, polishing silverware, assisting with inventory, and maintaining orderly and clean kitchen work areas and equipment.

This role is critical in upholding The Belgrove’s reputation for excellence, as it directly influences the guest experience by ensuring that all service items meet the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. The ideal Steward will possess an approachable and refined demeanor, exemplifying The Belgrove Resort’s culture of professionalism and outstanding guest service. In addition to daily cleaning and sanitation duties, the Steward will interact with other departments, participate in safety monitoring, attend mandatory meetings, and contribute to resolving any operational issues promptly and efficiently.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum formal education of a high school diploma
  • Previous upscale hotel experience required
  • Should have current Food Handlers Certification
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal
  • Excellent customer service focus and communication skills

Job Duties

  • Ensures dishes are sanitized and available as needed
  • Always keeps sanitation solutions up to company codes
  • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas
  • Polishes silver and copper
  • Assists in inventory of china, glassware, and silver
  • Maintains proper placement and organization of pots, pans, and utensils
