This position primarily involves operating and maintaining kitchen cleaning equipment such as dishwashers, hand-washing stations, pot washing stations, and trash compactors. The role requires washing and sanitizing kitchen areas, storage rooms, utensils, knives, and equipment to maintain the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness. You will be responsible for receiving deliveries, properly storing perishable goods, rotating stock as needed, and organizing clean dishes appropriately. Key duties include using cleaning chemicals effectively, inspecting, rinsing, and stacking clean items, and sending dirty items back for re-cleaning when necessary. Additionally, sorting, soaking, and washing flatware and separating dirty items for efficient cleaning cycles are crucial tasks.
Garbage management also forms a significant part of this job, including emptying trash bins, maintaining the garbage storage area, correctly disposing of glass, recycling cardboard and other items, and keeping all assigned areas clean and mopped regularly. The position requires strict adherence to company safety policies and procedures, including reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions promptly and completing all required safety training and certifications. The role demands physical stamina to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; lift, move, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.
